A long-run average, not a €97 promise.
If an enormous amount of action were played under the same game settings, the mathematical model targets an average return of €97 for every €100 wagered. The other €3 is the theoretical house edge.
A short session can finish far above or below that average. RTP cannot tell you whether the next shot catches a fish, when the submarine will be hit or whether Poseidon will produce a strong result.
The percentage stays the same while your action can accelerate.
RTP is applied to total wagering, not to time spent on the page. Twenty careful shots and two hundred rapid shots may use the same game maths, but the second session creates much more action and therefore much more exposure.
